CLICK HERE mmamethod.com The 77 Most Common Boxing Mistakes is my new ebook that makes learning how to Box FAST and EASY. Buy my book NOW! And stop making these mistakes right away Infighting MMA www.infighting.ca is a Mixed Martial Arts school located in Downtown Vancouver. A common mistake is that people throw the Hook with the elbow extended too far – this creates a big wide hook that is too easily perceived by your opponent. In addition, many people bend their elbows too much and have their fist too close to their body when they throw Hooks.

Urijah Faber and His Role In Mixed Martial Arts

Urijah Faber was born in his parents home on May 14th, 1979, in the small college town of Isla Vista. His parents holistic practices would come to influence all aspects of his life, including his successful MMA career and UFC affiliation. Fabers healthy diet and exercise helped gain him early success as a star athlete in the small town where he grew up, excelling in football, wrestling, and other sports. During his college career, he was the starting 133lb wrestler for UC Davis, and became the all time Davis win leader and a two time NCAA D-1 qualifier, finishing in the top twelve in 2002 and going on to the freestyle University Nationals to become a National runner up. After earning his Bachelors of Science in Human Development, Faber remained at UC Davis as the staff wrestling coach and launched his career in the MMA.

After just one month of jiu-jitsu training, Urijah Faber entered his first fight in November 2003 and won, going on to attend the Gladiator Challenge Belt in June of 2004. In September of 2005, Faber experienced his first career defeat, offset by his subsequent six-win streak and a third World Championship Belt for the WEC in March 2006. Fabers ongoing jiu-jitsu training has furthered his success, particularly since the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, practiced most famously in the United States by UFC founder Robert Gracie, emphasizes both grappling and ground fighting techniques.

This martial art and combat sport also promotes the idea that a smaller person can apply the proper leverage and technique to successfully defend themselves against larger opponents. Many MMA fighters have received extensive training in this area because of this. Uriah Fabers training is similar to that of the early Jiu-Jitsu fighters, who saw it as not only a martial art, but also as a sport and a way to build character and promote physical fitness. Fabers healthy lifestyle and intense daily workout regimen and self discipline are a good match for the disciplined principles of this century old martial art,

Since these initial victories, Faber has continued to dominate the 145lb weight class and the MMA, due to his personality, unique fighting style, and marketability. Urijah has earned the nickname The California Kid, as well as a popular official online fan club, endorsements, and more. On December 21, 2006, Faber was featured in MSNBCs four-part documentary, Warrior Nation, and currently has his own line of apparel and merchandise, including limited edition shirts and other clothing items.

Mixed Martial Arts Techniques

If you want to sharpen your combat skills for self-defense purposes, you can do so with Martial Arts. Consist of several systems of traditions and practices, they are also studied for reasons of mental discipline, self confidence and character development. There are many types or categories of martial arts – each one different from the next. Here are some of the most popular types.

Filipino Martial Arts – because the Philippines was the site of so many battles and combats, it is not surprising that the Filipinos have developed their own style of martial arts. Employing a wide range of methods in training, instructors of this type of martial arts believe that it is necessary to use knowledge and skills when in combat. Traditional Filipino martial arts also uses weapons like the sibat, baston, espada, latigo and lubid.

Chinese Martial Arts – the most famous of all styles are kung fu and wushu. When referring to kung fu, the system of martial arts refers to the accomplishment or skill of the person. On the other hand, wushu is more applicable to martial arts activities in general. In fact, it is considered to be a modern sport, like gymnastics. Chinese martial arts was borne from the need to defend one’s self during ancient China. Soldiers, preparing for war, are trained in martial arts in preparation for hand to hand combat.

Russian Martial Arts – like the Filipino and Chinese martial arts, the Russian martial arts was borne from the necessity for defense. During the ancient times, the Russian military have to protect their lands from invaders. The Russian martial arts is actually a combination of several styles including Japanese and Chinese martial arts. In any case, it resulted to a new style of martial arts and commonly referred to as Russian Sambo.

If you are interested in learning about different fight techniques including these martial arts style, there is only one authority to go to. The Fight Authority is a one-stop resource of all types of fighting techniques including martial arts, street fighting and other hand to hand combat skills. In addition to learning about the different types of fighting techniques, site visitors can also watch martial arts videos including muay thai, jiu jitsu and MMA training.

Learning martial arts is an effective way to protect yourself from situations that require you to stand up and defend your self. On the other hand, you should realize that learning is just the beginning. Martial arts is also an important discipline that requires you to seek out a way to improve yourself and develop your skills. It is a continuous process and should be taken quite seriously.

The Fight Authority will help you with all these things plus provide you with the means to meet other martial arts enthusiasts. The advances in technology have bridged so many barriers including time and distance and you will be able to maximize this particular feature of the internet. And the good news is you do not even have to leave your home to learn about martial arts.

Chuck Liddell And His Mixed Martial Arts Role

Chuck The Iceman Liddell was born on December 17, 1969 in Santa Barbara, California and is a mixed martial artist, a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and a former UFC Light Heavy weight champion. Liddell is known for his standup fighting techniques and take down defense and knockout ability within MMA circles. Liddells fighting versatility and stamina have earned him the nickname The Iceman, and have furthered his budding acting career, which includes, among other things, a recently released commercial for Dell Computers and an appearance in a music video for the band Nickleback.

Liddell began his training at the age of twelve, starting with Koei-Kan karate, and went on to become a four years starter on the football team of San Marcos High school, and later a Division I wrestler at California Polytechnic State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Accounting in 1995. Liddell made his UFC debut in 1998 after a decision victory of Noe Hernandez, and was considered the number one contender for the UFC Light Heavyweight title, which he later won, catapulting him to a career of further renown.

Liddells platform, the UFC, began as a tournament with the goal of locating the worlds top fighters, and was based on Brazilian vale tudo fighting. Originally known as a no holds barred and often violent style of fighting, the UFC has since established and reformed rules and regulations that have resulted in a wider mainstream appeal.

From these beginnings, Liddell has become a mainstream celebrity, in addition to one of the most well known MMA fighters. In 2005, Liddell appeared in the first season of the Spike TV reality show, The Ultimate Fighter, which featured new UFC fighters competing with one another for a contract with UFC, the largest MMA promotion worldwide. Liddell was coach of team Liddell, and both of the shows winners, Diego Sanchez and Forrest Griffin, also team Liddell members, have gone on to successful careers of their own. Liddell also has a successful fan club, his own line of apparel and other merchandise, and has made guest appearances in several movies and television shows. Liddells signature fight move, the Octagon, a wide, swinging punch, is a crowd favorite.

Liddell, who described himself in an interview with ESPN as mellow and laid back, has two children, Trista and Cade, and a brother, Sean Liddell, who has also fought in the MMA.
